Priestly Ordination of Br. Filiberto Oregel Álvarez, O.Carm.

On Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 10:30 am Central, the Priestly Ordination of Br. Filiberto Oregel Álvarez, O.Carm. will take place at the National Shrine of St. Thérèse in Darien, IL.

Br. Filiberto has long been known not just for his spiritual commitment but also for his creative gifts. He’s a prolific writer of icons, many of which are shared and treasured on carmelprays.com, where his work helps inspire prayer and reflection for people around the world.

Following his ordination, Fr. Filiberto will bring his heart and talents to Mount Carmel High School in Chicago, IL, where he’ll be serving the school community, guiding students in faith, and continuing his artistic and pastoral work.

For those unable to attend in person, the ordination will be live-streamed, offering everyone a chance to join in the celebration and support Fr. Filiberto as he takes this important step in his vocation.

This event marks the beginning of a new chapter for Filiberto, one rooted in service, creativity, and devotion.
