World Youth Day 2027

We invite you to encourage the JUCAR young adults and graduating high school seniors (Class of 2027) in your ministry to join the Carmelite pilgrimage to World Youth Day 2027 in South Korea, taking place August 1–10, 2027.

The pilgrimage is being organized by the Carmelites of North America in collaboration with the Diocese of Tucson Office of Youth Ministry. It will be a wonderful opportunity for our young people to experience the universal Church, deepen their relationship with Christ, and grow in the Carmelite charism while journeying with fellow Carmelites from across North America.

The cost of the pilgrimage is $2,995 (ground only), which includes accommodations, local transportation, World Youth Day registration, and most meals. Flight pricing will be available by the end of August.

Please share the interest form with any young adults or graduating seniors who may be interested. Once applicants have completed the interest form and their endorsement has been confirmed by their local Carmelite friar or youth minister, they will receive a link to complete their registration through Canterbury Pilgrimages.

I also encourage you to begin creating fundraising opportunities for your pilgrims. Starting early will make the pilgrimage more accessible and help our young people prepare for this incredible experience.

Thank you for helping us invite the next generation of Carmelites to encounter Christ and the universal Church through World Youth Day. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Participants must be 18 years old by July 31, 2027. Please share the following link with them: :https://www.canterburypilgrimages.com/tour/16208/

Please contact Fr. Manu Franco, O.Carm., with any questions.

The Carmelites of the Province of the Most Pure Heart of Mary, in allegiance to Jesus Christ, live in a prophetic and contemplative stance of prayer, common life, and service.  Inspired by Elijah and Mary and informed by the Carmelite Rule, we give witness to an eight-hundred-year-old tradition of spiritual transformation in the United States, Canada, Peru, Mexico, and El Salvador, and Honduras.
