Ma se ci soffermiamo un attimo su queste espressioni, possono condurci verso riflessioni molto diverse.<\/p><p>Perch\u00e9 Dio? Perch\u00e9 mettere Dio al centro delle nostre vite? Perch\u00e9 dedicare il nostro tempo, i nostri talenti e cos\u00ec tanto di noi stessi al servizio di Lui e del Suo popolo?<\/p><p>E poi c'\u00e8 l'altra questione.<\/p><p>Perch\u00e9, Dio? Perch\u00e9 \u00e8 cos\u00ec difficile? Perch\u00e9 non funziona? Perch\u00e9 mi hai portato qui, mi hai dato questo desiderio di servire e poi mi hai lasciato a chiedermi cosa dovrei farne?<\/p><p>Credo che una vita dedicata al ministero ci riporti a entrambe queste domande. A volte anche nel corso dello stesso pomeriggio.<\/p><p>Per noi laici, queste domande si inseriscono in una vita gi\u00e0 piena di responsabilit\u00e0. Abbiamo un lavoro, una famiglia, bollette da pagare, relazioni da coltivare e persone che hanno bisogno di noi a casa. Alcuni di noi lavorano per la Chiesa. Altri fanno volontariato in una parrocchia, prestano servizio in una mensa per i bisognosi, fanno visita a chi \u00e8 solo o semplicemente cercano di portare un po\u2019 di pazienza e compassione nei luoghi in cui trascorriamo le nostre giornate.<\/p><p>E in mezzo a tutto questo, cerchiamo di rimanere fedeli.<\/p><p>Stiamo cercando di capire cosa Dio ci stia chiedendo\u2026 e come rispondere con ci\u00f2 che abbiamo effettivamente da offrire.<\/p><p>Allora, perch\u00e9 Dio?<\/p><p>Immagino che potremmo iniziare con le risposte che ci sono state insegnate fin da piccoli. Perch\u00e9 Lui ci ha creati. Perch\u00e9 ci ama. Perch\u00e9 siamo chiamati ad amare Lui e il prossimo. \u00c8 tutto vero. Ma arriva un momento in cui quelle risposte devono diventare personali.<\/p><p>Che cosa c'entra quell'amore con il modo in cui vivo un marted\u00ec mattina?<\/p><p>Per me, \u00e8 proprio qui che la spiritualit\u00e0 carmelitana rende questa questione particolarmente vicina a noi. Ci invita a prestare attenzione alla presenza di Dio nella vita che stiamo gi\u00e0 vivendo. A rallentare abbastanza da notarla. Ad ascoltare. A lasciare che il nostro rapporto con Lui plasmi il modo in cui vediamo la persona che abbiamo davanti.<\/p><p>E questo cambia il significato stesso del servizio.<\/p><p>La persona che chiede aiuto ha un nome, una storia, una dignit\u00e0 che esiste ben prima che noi arriviamo con ci\u00f2 che pensiamo le serva. Man mano che diventiamo pi\u00f9 attenti a Dio, potremmo diventare pi\u00f9 disposti ad ascoltare quella persona. Potremmo persino scoprire che la cosa pi\u00f9 utile che possiamo offrire \u00e8 diversa da ci\u00f2 che avevamo pianificato.<\/p><p>Certo, ascoltare richiede tempo. E di solito abbiamo un programma da rispettare.<\/p><p>Ecco la sfida.<\/p><p>Pu\u00f2 capitare di essere cos\u00ec presi dal lavoro pastorale da dedicare pochissima attenzione al rapporto che ci ha spinti a intraprendere questa strada. La preghiera diventa qualcosa a cui torneremo una volta che le cose si saranno sistemate.<\/p><p>E ogni cosa ha la straordinaria capacit\u00e0 di non trovare mai una vera e propria stabilit\u00e0.<\/p><p>Carmel ci invita a ritrovare quel rapporto nel corso della giornata. Qualche momento di silenzio prima di aprire l\u2019e-mail. Una preghiera sincera prima di una conversazione difficile. Un po\u2019 di tempo dedicato alla lettura della Scrittura. Includere nella nostra preghiera le persone che abbiamo incontrato e lasciare che ci\u00f2 che accade nella preghiera influenzi il modo in cui le incontreremo domani.<\/p><p>A volte la preghiera \u00e8 semplicemente: \u201cDio, aiutami ad ascoltare\u201d.\u201d<\/p><p>A volte mi capita di pensare: \u201cAvrei potuto gestirla meglio\u201d.\u201d<\/p><p>E a volte\u2026 \u201cPerch\u00e9, Dio?\u201d<\/p><p>Perch\u00e9 una persona che ha gi\u00e0 sofferto cos\u00ec tanto deve affrontare anche questo? Perch\u00e9 gli sforzi sinceri vanno in fumo? Perch\u00e9 c\u2019\u00e8 tensione tra persone che credono tutte di servirTi? Come pu\u00f2 qualcuno sentirsi vuoto anche mentre fa qualcosa che per lui \u00e8 cos\u00ec importante?<\/p><p>Quella virgola rende la domanda personale. Ci stiamo rivolgendo a Qualcuno.<\/p><p>Anche nella frustrazione, anche quando non siamo sicuri di cosa pensare della situazione, mettiamo noi stessi nella relazione. In questo pu\u00f2 esserci fede. In una domanda che esiteremmo a pronunciare ad alta voce in chiesa pu\u00f2 esserci preghiera.<\/p><p>Dio \u00e8 in grado di accogliere una conversazione sincera.<\/p><p>Credo che a volte ce ne dimentichiamo quando svolgiamo il nostro ministero. Sentiamo la responsabilit\u00e0 di essere di incoraggiamento, di avere una visione d\u2019insieme, di aiutare gli altri ad avere fiducia. E a poco a poco cominciamo a pensare che dovremmo porci meno domande.<\/p><p>Ma stare accanto a un\u2019altra persona non significa che dobbiamo aver risolto ogni difficolt\u00e0 nel nostro rapporto con Dio. Ma sono qui\u201d.\u201d<\/p><p>E poi resta.<\/p><p>Teresa d\u2019Avila mi aiuta a riflettere su quel tipo di fedelt\u00e0 attraverso la sua concezione della preghiera come conversazione con un amico\u2026 come il dedicare del tempo a stare con Colui che sappiamo ci ama. C\u2019\u00e8 qualcosa di rassicurante in questo. Con un amico possiamo avere una conversazione sincera. Possiamo ammettere di essere stanchi, delusi o incerti su cosa fare dopo. Non dobbiamo arrivare con le idee gi\u00e0 chiare n\u00e9 trovare le parole giuste prima di iniziare. E lasciamo spazio anche all\u2019ascolto.<\/p><p>Quell\u2019amicizia si riflette nel modo in cui serviamo. Portiamo a Dio ci\u00f2 che \u00e8 accaduto oggi\u2026 la conversazione che ci ha turbato, la persona che non siamo riusciti ad aiutare, il momento che vorremmo poter rifare\u2026 e lasciamo che quel tempo trascorso con Lui plasmi il modo in cui torneremo domani. Potremmo avere ben poco potere di cambiare le circostanze di qualcuno. Possiamo comunque dedicargli la nostra attenzione. Possiamo mantenere una promessa. Possiamo svolgere il lavoro necessario con cura, anche quando nessuno sapr\u00e0 chi lo ha fatto. Quei momenti ordinari diventano luoghi in cui la nostra amicizia con Dio trova espressione nell\u2019amore per un\u2019altra persona.<\/p><p>Per una persona comune, queste opportunit\u00e0 vanno ben oltre il ministero che ci \u00e8 stato affidato. La nostra vocazione battesimale ci accompagna nelle nostre case, nei nostri luoghi di lavoro, nelle nostre amicizie e nelle decisioni che prendiamo quando nessuno ci guarda.<\/p><p>Le persone a casa meritano la stessa gentilezza che cerchiamo di offrire a chi frequenta la chiesa. Questo pu\u00f2 rivelarsi un esame di coscienza piuttosto scomodo.<\/p><p>Lo stesso vale per il riconoscere che abbiamo dei limiti.<\/p><p>Una vita dedicata al servizio ha bisogno di spazio per il riposo, la famiglia, la preghiera e per ricevere a nostra volta cure e attenzione. A volte discernere ci\u00f2 che Dio ci chiede significa ammettere che non possiamo assumerci un altro impegno. A volte significa permettere a qualcun altro di aiutarci. La comunit\u00e0 che serviamo pu\u00f2 anche essere la comunit\u00e0 attraverso la quale Dio si prende cura di noi.<\/p><p>Noi facciamo parte di quella cerchia di sostegno.<\/p><p>E forse \u00e8 proprio questo che mette in relazione le due domande.<\/p><p>Perch\u00e9 Dio? Perch\u00e9 il Suo amore d\u00e0 un senso alla vita che stiamo vivendo e ci invita a condividere quell\u2019amore con le persone che ci sono state affidate.<\/p><p>Perch\u00e9, Dio? Perch\u00e9 vivere quell\u2019invito pu\u00f2 essere fonte di confusione, dolore e difficolt\u00e0, e abbiamo bisogno di un posto dove portare tutto questo.<\/p><p>Probabilmente continueremo a chiedere entrambe le cose.<\/p><p>Ci saranno giorni in cui il servizio ci sembrer\u00e0 naturale e la preghiera ci verr\u00e0 spontanea. Ci saranno giorni in cui dovremo ricominciare da capo dopo esserci mostrati impazienti, distratti o fin troppo sicuri di noi stessi. E ci saranno giorni in cui resteremo seduti in silenzio con Dio, con ben poco da dire.<\/p><p>Possiamo portare a Lui anche quei giorni.<\/p><p>\u201cPerch\u00e9, Dio? Non capisco bene dove si voglia arrivare. Aiutami a capire cosa mi chiede l\u2019amore oggi.\u201d<\/p><p>E poi concedigli abbastanza silenzio per poterlo ascoltare.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div
