L\u2019annuncio sconvolgente: \u201cIl Verbo si \u00e8 fatto carne\u201d (Gv 1,14) \u00e8 il piano di Dio.  \u00c8 cos\u00ec che Ges\u00f9 ha accolto la chiamata a salvare il mondo.  Diventare carne non \u00e8 stato un evento isolato.  \u00c8 nell\u2019accettare la totalit\u00e0 della Sua umanit\u00e0 che noi dovevamo essere salvati.  Ci\u00f2 significava che Ges\u00f9 ci ha accettati tutti cos\u00ec come siamo. Egli ci ha accolti tutti, nella nostra condizione ferita e peccaminosa, come parte della Sua realt\u00e0. Per Ges\u00f9, ci\u00f2 significava un confronto con il male che lo avrebbe condotto alla Passione e alla Morte.<\/div>\n<p> Quindi, quando Ges\u00f9 defin\u00ec Pietro la roccia su cui avrebbe edificato la Sua Chiesa, accett\u00f2 Pietro, e tutti noi, i Suoi seguaci, cos\u00ec come siamo: imperfetti e bisognosi di essere risanati.  Ecco perch\u00e9 ci risulta cos\u00ec difficile comprendere la Chiesa. \u00c8 una casa per i peccatori che hanno bisogno di guarigione, una casa per chi \u00e8 ferito e smarrito, alla ricerca di integrit\u00e0 e di una nuova direzione.<\/p>\n<p> Nel brano di Matteo di oggi, Ges\u00f9 rivela a Pietro, e a tutti noi, la via della salvezza da Lui scelta. Egli avrebbe restaurato il mondo entrando nel dolore e nella sofferenza della nostra umanit\u00e0, cos\u00ec profondamente imperfetta, per guarirla dall\u2019interno. La sofferenza e la morte di Ges\u00f9 sono le conseguenze ultime del fatto che \u201cil Verbo si \u00e8 fatto carne\u201d. (Gv 1,14) <\/p>\n<p> Pietro non riusciva ad accettare le parole di Ges\u00f9 sulla croce, sul rifiuto, sul rinnegamento e sulla morte. Probabilmente, trovava molto difficile accettare la potenziale perdita di potere e prestigio personali, insieme all\u2019invito inimmaginabile a prendere la propria croce. Pietro era sconvolto dalla nuova direzione indicata da Ges\u00f9, una via che sicuramente non aveva n\u00e9 previsto n\u00e9 desiderato. Ges\u00f9 stava sostituendo le aspettative popolari di potenza militare, prosperit\u00e0 e potere privilegiati per il Popolo Eletto di Dio. Ora Pietro si trovava di fronte alla croce e alla perdita delle sue comodit\u00e0 e dei suoi agi. Cos\u00ec, fece ci\u00f2 che abbiamo fatto noi nel corso di tutta la storia del cristianesimo: rimodellare Ges\u00f9 a nostra immagine, anzich\u00e9 accettare Dio nella sua Parola, che \u00e8 Ges\u00f9 incarnato. Solo in Ges\u00f9 abbiamo la vera espressione del piano di salvezza di Dio.<\/p>\n<p> Il comando di Ges\u00f9 \u00e8 molto netto: \u201cVattene via da me, Satana!\u201d (Mt 16,18). Pietro era appena stato definito \u201croccia\u201d, ma ora era diventato un ostacolo. <\/p>\n<p>Da un lato, Ges\u00f9 respinge l\u2019affermazione errata di Pietro. Dall\u2019altro, si tratta di un messaggio di perdono. Ges\u00f9 gli sta dicendo di mettersi alle sue spalle e di essere un discepolo fedele seguendolo. Anche se Ges\u00f9 \u00e8 molto chiaro nel Suo rifiuto, continua comunque a fidarsi di Pietro e a perdonarlo.<\/p>\n<p>Ges\u00f9 comprendeva chiaramente che il discepolato \u00e8 un percorso, il pi\u00f9 delle volte lungo e arduo, fatto di tentativi ed errori. Questa esperienza di Pietro \u00e8 uno dei tanti episodi in cui Ges\u00f9 si mostra paziente, gentile e comprensivo nei suoi confronti, proprio come lo \u00e8 con noi quando, cos\u00ec spesso, annaschiamo lungo la strada per Gerusalemme.<\/p>\n<p> L\u2019annuncio odierno del viaggio verso Gerusalemme, che porter\u00e0 al rifiuto, alla sofferenza e alla morte, \u00e8 il primo di tre annunci di questo tipo presenti nei prossimi capitoli del Vangelo secondo Matteo. In ciascuno di questi episodi i discepoli non colgono affatto il senso della questione.<\/p>\n<p> Continuiamo il difficile compito di accettare Ges\u00f9 alle Sue condizioni e non alle nostre. La Chiesa \u00e8 sempre impegnata nella lotta per cercare l\u2019integrit\u00e0 del messaggio evangelico. Non siamo mai lontani dalla tentazione di dire a Ges\u00f9 come fare a modo nostro, proprio come fece Pietro.  Continuiamo a vivere con false aspettative, sperando di avere una comunit\u00e0 perfetta e una vita personale priva di problemi per portare avanti il ministero del Vangelo. Facciamo fatica ad accettare che Ges\u00f9 ci abbia accolti pienamente nella nostra fragilit\u00e0 e nella nostra confusione. Egli ci ha scelti proprio come siamo, vasi di argilla, per proclamare e celebrare il messaggio evangelico.<\/p>\n<p> Non riusciamo a sopportare lo scandalo sessuale, il clericalismo, le dichiarazioni misogine dei funzionari vaticani, la ricchezza mal distribuita e chi pi\u00f9 ne ha pi\u00f9 ne metta. La Chiesa pu\u00f2 essere davvero straziante, con tanta chiarezza nei suoi documenti e tanta mediocrit\u00e0 nella sua realt\u00e0.  Eppure, proprio queste stesse mancanze si intrecciano sempre con l\u2019incredibile fedelt\u00e0 di tante famiglie che lottano contro ogni avversit\u00e0, di bravi sacerdoti che fanno del loro meglio, di religiose che continuano a essere eroine silenziose e nascoste del Vangelo, della sofferenza silenziosa e amorevole di tante vite nascoste.   La zizzania e il grano saranno con noi fino alla fine.<\/p>\n<p> Ges\u00f9 vuole che siamo aperti al mistero dell\u2019Incarnazione. Dobbiamo accettarci a vicenda nella nostra fragilit\u00e0, proprio come ha fatto Ges\u00f9 quando si \u00e8 fatto carne. Paolo esprime la meraviglia di questo evento nel suo grande inno contenuto nella Lettera ai Filippesi:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Sebbene fosse nella forma di Dio,<\/p>\n<p>Ges\u00f9 non si considerava uguale a Dio<\/p>\n<p>qualcosa a cui aggrapparsi.<\/p>\n<p>Anzi, si \u00e8 svuotato di s\u00e9 stesso <\/p>\n<p>E assunse la forma di uno schiavo nato a immagine degli uomini<\/p>\n<p>Era noto per essere di natura umana,<\/p>\n<p>Ed \u00e8 cos\u00ec che Egli si umili\u00f2,<\/p>\n<p>Accettando con obbedienza persino la morte,<\/p>\n<p>Morte sulla croce!
