Ges\u00f9 continua ad accompagnarci nelle tempeste e nelle circostanze minacciose della nostra vita. Pu\u00f2 sembrare nascosto e assente, ma \u00e8 l\u00ec, sia sul mare che stava per inghiottire Pietro, sia sulla barca che rappresentava una minaccia diversa. <\/p>\n<p>Il racconto evangelico di oggi, in cui Ges\u00f9 cammina sulle acque, \u00e8 ricco di simbolismo e di richiami al divino presenti nell\u2019Antico Testamento. I discepoli si ritrovarono soli su una barca sballottata dalla tempesta. Improvvisamente, Ges\u00f9 si present\u00f2 per rassicurarli, insegnando loro \u2013 e a noi \u2013 che non esiste conflitto, lotta, difficolt\u00e0 o paura cos\u00ec grande che la provvidenza di Dio non possa risolvere.<\/p>\n<p> In primo luogo, la storia della barca in mezzo alla tempesta rappresenta le difficolt\u00e0 affrontate dalla Chiesa nei primi giorni della sua esistenza e nel corso della storia. Allo stesso modo, l\u2019episodio in cui Pietro affonda nell\u2019acqua \u00e8 un\u2019espressione dell\u2019esperienza umana fondamentale di sentirsi totalmente vulnerabili.<\/p>\n<p> Pietro si dimostra audace e avventuroso nel suo grido rivolto a Ges\u00f9:, <b>\u201cSe sei tu, Signore, comandami di venire da te sulle acque.\u201d (Mt 14,28)<\/b> Pietro inizia a camminare, ma la realt\u00e0 ha la meglio sulla sua fede vacillante. Mentre Pietro affronta il momento della verit\u00e0 e comincia ad affondare, grida:, <b>\u201cSignore, salvami!\u201d (Mt 14,30)<\/b> Questa \u00e8 un'espressione della verit\u00e0 nuda e cruda della nostra umanit\u00e0. In fin dei conti, dipendiamo totalmente da Dio.<\/p>\n<p> Ges\u00f9 dice:, <b>\u201cNon abbiate paura!\u201d (Mt 27).<\/b> Questa frase ricorre pi\u00f9 di trecento volte nella Bibbia. Ogni volta ci introduce alla provvidenza amorevole di Dio, alla presenza misericordiosa di un Dio salvifico e compassionevole. Definirla una dichiarazione di conforto \u00e8 decisamente riduttivo. Essa rivela un Dio profondamente coinvolto nella lotta umana con il potere della guarigione e della liberazione. Questo episodio, come tanti altri nella Bibbia, rivela un Dio che \u00e8 sempre personalmente presente accanto a noi nelle nostre difficolt\u00e0. Nell\u2019episodio di oggi, ad esempio, Pietro finisce per tornare sulla barca invece che sul fondo del mare. <\/p>\n<p> L'impresa fallita di Pietro ebbe alcune conseguenze molto positive. Egli impar\u00f2 che il confrontarsi direttamente con la propria debolezza metteva in luce il potere salvifico del Signore. Pietro si rese immediatamente conto dei limiti della propria fede. Allo stesso tempo, ebbe il buon senso di invocare Ges\u00f9. Il suo <b>\u201cSalvami, Signore!\u201d<\/b> Non \u00e8 stato un dono da poco. Gli ha aperto il cuore a una fiducia pi\u00f9 profonda in Ges\u00f9 e alla consapevolezza della fragilit\u00e0 della sua fede. Questo \u00e8 il cammino della fede: una crescita lenta, passo dopo passo, nel mezzo della realt\u00e0 turbolenta e travolgente della vita quotidiana. Per Pietro e per noi, la nostra esperienza di fede \u00e8 sempre legata alla chiamata di Ges\u00f9 e non alle nostre illusioni. Il vero incontro con Dio sar\u00e0 sempre improntato al servizio e al sacrificio, piuttosto che all\u2019egoismo e all\u2019autoindulgenza.<\/p>\n<p> Ognuno di noi ha il proprio, <b>\u201cSignore, salvami!\u201d<\/b> momenti. Con il passare degli anni tendono a diventare meno frequenti, ma pi\u00f9 intensi. Alla fine, diventa sempre pi\u00f9 chiaro che ci troviamo davvero nel mezzo della tempesta e che stiamo per affondare.<\/p>\n<p>La consapevolezza di quanto abbiamo bisogno di Ges\u00f9 cresce nel nostro cuore. Pu\u00f2 trattarsi di una crisi sanitaria come quella che abbiamo vissuto durante la pandemia, di un figlio o di un coniuge affetto da una dipendenza patologica, della perdita di una persona cara, delle conseguenze di un\u2019economia fuori dal nostro controllo, dell\u2019ostilit\u00e0 crescente del cambiamento climatico o semplicemente dell\u2019inesorabile processo di invecchiamento. I titoli dei giornali di oggi riportano una nuova notizia, ma manifestano la stessa tensione che \u00e8 l\u2019imprevedibilit\u00e0 sempre presente della vita. Siamo sempre a un passo dalla tempesta, se non ci siamo gi\u00e0 dentro. Tutti questi fattori di stress mettono a dura prova la nostra vita personale, familiare e comunitaria. Qualunque sia la situazione, questi eventi sono tutti anticipi dell\u2019esperienza umana definitiva: la nostra mortalit\u00e0. La profondit\u00e0 del grido, <b>\u201cSignore, salvami!\u201d<\/b>, diventa pi\u00f9 intensa e pi\u00f9 prepotente. Allo stesso tempo, il bisogno che la mano di Ges\u00f9 ci raggiunga diventa pi\u00f9 chiaro, pi\u00f9 forte e incredibilmente pi\u00f9 importante. Dobbiamo tenere gli occhi fissi su Ges\u00f9.<\/p>\n<p>Sant\u2019Agostino ha detto quanto segue riguardo all\u2019esperienza di Pietro e alla nostra esperienza delle tempeste della vita: <b>\u201c\u00c8 venuto camminando sulle onde; e cos\u00ec, pone sotto i suoi piedi tutti i tumulti travolgenti della vita. Cristiani, perch\u00e9 temere?\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Santa Teresa d\u2019Avila offre una chiara conclusione alle riflessioni di oggi. Teresa afferma che la storia della sua vita \u00e8 la storia della misericordia di Dio. Con questo intende dire che quando era giunta al momento pi\u00f9 profondo e pi\u00f9 chiaro della sua vita, il suo momento del \u201cSignore, salvami!\u201d, aveva compreso cosa significasse essere una creatura. Ha abbracciato la realt\u00e0 della sua condizione di creatura perch\u00e9 per lei ci\u00f2 significava essere cullata nelle mani amorevoli di un Creatore misericordioso, rivelarosi nel suo grande amico e Salvatore, Ges\u00f9 Cristo. La realt\u00e0 ultima \u00e8 che Dio \u00e8 buono, non che noi siamo buoni. Alla fine, la misericordia illimitata di Dio \u00e8 la sua vittoria.<\/p>\n<p> Per noi \u00e8 un percorso scoprire che anche la nostra vita, nella sua espressione ultima, \u00e8 la storia della misericordia di Dio.
