Jes\u00fas sigue acompa\u00f1\u00e1ndonos en las tormentas y en las circunstancias amenazantes de nuestra vida. Puede parecer que est\u00e1 oculto o ausente, pero est\u00e1 ah\u00ed, ya sea en el mar que estaba a punto de llevarse a Pedro o en la barca que supon\u00eda una amenaza diferente. <\/p>\n<p>El relato evang\u00e9lico de hoy, en el que Jes\u00fas camina sobre las aguas, est\u00e1 lleno de simbolismo y de ecos de lo divino en el Antiguo Testamento. Los disc\u00edpulos se encontraron solos en una barca sacudida por la tormenta. De repente, Jes\u00fas se hizo presente para tranquilizarlos, ense\u00f1\u00e1ndoles a ellos \u2014y a nosotros\u2014 que no hay conflicto, ni lucha, ni dificultad, ni miedo tan grande que el cuidado providencial de Dios no pueda resolver.<\/p>\n<p> En primer lugar, la historia de la barca en medio de la tormenta es una manifestaci\u00f3n de las dificultades que atraves\u00f3 la Iglesia en sus primeros d\u00edas de existencia y a lo largo de la historia. Del mismo modo, el episodio en el que Pedro se hunde en el agua es una expresi\u00f3n de la experiencia humana fundamental de sentirse totalmente vulnerable.<\/p>\n<p> Pedro se muestra valiente y audaz en su clamor dirigido a Jes\u00fas:, <b>\u201cSi eres t\u00fa, Se\u00f1or, m\u00e1ndame que vaya hacia ti sobre las aguas.\u201d (Mt 14, 28)<\/b> Pedro comienza a caminar, pero la realidad se impone a su d\u00e9bil fe. Cuando Pedro se enfrenta a su momento de la verdad y empieza a hundirse, grita:, <b>\u201c\u00a1Se\u00f1or, s\u00e1lvame!\u201d (Mt 14, 30)<\/b> Esta es una expresi\u00f3n de la verdad desnuda y sin filtros de nuestra humanidad. Al fin y al cabo, dependemos totalmente de Dios.<\/p>\n<p> Jes\u00fas dice:, <b>\u201c\u00a1No teng\u00e1is miedo!\u201d (Mt 27).<\/b> Esta frase aparece m\u00e1s de trescientas veces en la Biblia. Cada vez nos presenta la providencia amorosa de Dios, la presencia misericordiosa de un Dios salvador y compasivo. Calificarla de mensaje de consuelo se queda muy corto. Revela a un Dios profundamente comprometido con la lucha humana, dotado del poder de la sanaci\u00f3n y la liberaci\u00f3n. Este episodio, como tantos otros de la Biblia, nos revela a un Dios que siempre est\u00e1 personalmente presente junto a nosotros en nuestras luchas. En el episodio de hoy, por ejemplo, Pedro acaba de vuelta en la barca en lugar de en el fondo del mar. <\/p>\n<p> La aventura fallida de Pedro tuvo algunas consecuencias muy beneficiosas. Aprendi\u00f3 que el contacto directo con su propia debilidad pon\u00eda de manifiesto el poder salvador del Se\u00f1or. De inmediato, Pedro se dio cuenta de las limitaciones de su propia fe. Al mismo tiempo, tuvo el buen sentido de recurrir a Jes\u00fas. Su <b>\u201c\u00a1S\u00e1lvame, Se\u00f1or!\u201d<\/b> No fue un regalo menor. Le abri\u00f3 el coraz\u00f3n a una confianza m\u00e1s profunda en Jes\u00fas y a la conciencia de la fragilidad de su fe. Este es el camino de la fe: un crecimiento lento, paso a paso, en medio de la agitada y turbulenta realidad de la vida cotidiana. Tanto para Pedro como para nosotros, nuestra experiencia de fe est\u00e1 siempre ligada a la llamada de Jes\u00fas y no a nuestras ilusiones. El verdadero encuentro con Dios siempre tendr\u00e1 que ver con el servicio y el sacrificio, m\u00e1s que con el ego\u00edsmo y la complacencia.<\/p>\n<p> Todos tenemos lo nuestro, <b>\u201c\u00a1Se\u00f1or, s\u00e1lvame!\u201d<\/b> momentos. Suelen ser menos frecuentes, pero m\u00e1s intensos a medida que pasan los a\u00f1os. Al final, cada vez queda m\u00e1s claro que realmente estamos en medio de la tormenta y que estamos a punto de hundirnos.<\/p>\n<p>La necesidad de Jes\u00fas se hace cada vez m\u00e1s patente en nuestro coraz\u00f3n. Puede tratarse de una crisis sanitaria como la que vivimos durante la pandemia, de un hijo o c\u00f3nyuge con una adicci\u00f3n patol\u00f3gica, de la p\u00e9rdida de un ser querido, de las consecuencias de una econom\u00eda que escapa a nuestro control, de la creciente amenaza del cambio clim\u00e1tico o, simplemente, del implacable proceso del envejecimiento. Los titulares de hoy traen una nueva noticia, pero ponen de manifiesto la misma tensi\u00f3n que supone la imprevisibilidad siempre presente de la vida. Siempre estamos a un paso de la tormenta, si es que no nos encontramos ya en ella. Todos estos factores de estr\u00e9s ejercen una presi\u00f3n extraordinaria sobre nuestra vida personal, familiar y comunitaria. Sea cual sea la situaci\u00f3n, todos estos acontecimientos son anticipos de la experiencia humana definitiva: nuestra mortalidad. La profundidad del grito, <b>\u201c\u00a1Se\u00f1or, s\u00e1lvame!\u201d<\/b>, se vuelve m\u00e1s intensa y dominante. Al mismo tiempo, la necesidad de que Jes\u00fas nos tienda la mano se hace m\u00e1s clara, m\u00e1s fuerte e incre\u00edblemente m\u00e1s importante. Debemos mantener la mirada fija en Jes\u00fas.<\/p>\n<p>San Agust\u00edn dijo lo siguiente sobre la experiencia de Pedro y la nuestra ante las tormentas de la vida: <b>\u201cVino caminando sobre las olas; y as\u00ed, somete bajo sus pies todos los tumultos de la vida. Cristianos, \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 temer?\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Santa Teresa de \u00c1vila ofrece una conclusi\u00f3n clara a partir de las reflexiones de hoy. Teresa afirma que la historia de su vida es la historia de la misericordia de Dios. Con ello quiere decir que, cuando lleg\u00f3 al momento m\u00e1s profundo y claro de su vida \u2014ese momento en el que exclam\u00f3: \u201c\u00a1Se\u00f1or, s\u00e1lvame!\u201d\u2014, aprendi\u00f3 lo que significaba ser una criatura. Acept\u00f3 el hecho de su realidad como criatura porque, para ella, eso significaba que estaba acunada en las manos amorosas de un Creador misericordioso, revelado en su gran amigo y Salvador, Jesucristo. La realidad \u00faltima es que Dios es bueno, no que nosotros seamos buenos. Al final, la misericordia ilimitada de Dios es su victoria.<\/p>\n<p> Para nosotros, es todo un camino descubrir que nuestra vida es tambi\u00e9n, en su m\u00e1xima expresi\u00f3n, la historia de la misericordia de Dios.
