Each year the novitiate begins on the second Sunday of June.\u00a0 During Vespers that evening at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel each pre-novice is clothed with the Carmelite habit by a Carmelite of his choosing.\u00a0 They begin Vespers as pre-novices and leave Vespers as novices.<\/p>\n
