The first Carmelites lived in "cells" and came together every day for Eucharist and on Sundays to talk about their lives together. For us today, the cell is more than a physical reality -- it's an interior space. It's the place where we look for God in our lives. With our community, we have a sense of solidarity in trying to be faithful to that relationship with God and to the Gospel.
Community means joining in activities and being involved in each other's lives. We pray together. We actively participate in community liturgy and prayer times. We're aware of what's going on in our brothers' lives, families, and work. We share our struggles and successes. To be a brother is to have an active engagement with each other's lives.
